TERRORISM, INHERENT OR ACQUIRED?

By Nassir M. Al-Ajmi

There has been a concerted effort for quite some time by Christian fundamentalists, Zionist and Zionist sympathizers in the United States and elsewhere, who are desperately trying to convince the rest of the world that terrorism is an inherent phenomenon of Islam, Islamic culture and Muslims.  Rather than rejecting this allegation outright, I decided to submit to the history of terrorism based on present “definitions” or common understanding of what terrorism is today; and for simplicity sake, let us pick a time and place in history.  Sixteenth (16th) Century and North America is a good starting point:

·         For nearly 300 years (16-18 century) give or take 50 years, an estimated three (3) million red Indians were slaughtered by white settlers, white gangsters and uniformed soldiers.  Were those deeds acts of terrorism?, who committed those acts?, what race? what culture? and what religion?

·         During the same period Africans were hunted like animals, gathered and shipped like cattle to be sold to North American landlords.  Were those acts of terrorism?, who committed them?, what race?, what culture?, and what religion?

·         The subjugation and enslavement of peoples around the globe during the colonial period have left irreparable scars in many parts of the world.  Were those acts of terrorism?, who committed them?, what race?, what culture?, and what religion?

·         The holocaust of European Jews during World War II.  Was that a form of terrorism?, who committed it?, what race?, what culture?, and what religion?

·         The South African apartheid.  Was that a form of terrorism?, who committed it?, what race?, what culture? and what religion?

·         The Stern gang who shocked the world with its massacres of Arab men, women and children and who blew up Jerusalem’s King David Hotel and killed 100 British and others in 1946.  Were those forms of terrorism?, who committed them?, what race?, what culture?, and what religion?

The list is long, however, it is abundantly clear that if terrorism is an inherent phenomenon in a race, culture or religion, it has had a long history and clearly defined roots, therefore, modern terrorists have acquired their criminal skills by following the footsteps and the blueprints of their skillful mentors.

Inherent or acquired, terrorism is bad.  Reaction and retaliation in kind only, have propagated terrorism rather than eliminated it, and have invariably resulted in loss of innocent lives.  Terrorism cannot be eradicated until the underlying causes are justly addressed.

As the anniversary of September 11 inches closer, I hope that many responsible and rational human beings have fully absorbed the horrific effects of the event and have taken stock of its dimensions, its underlying causes and its evil and deplorable results.  I have been preoccupied by the event in many ways for nearly a year, and have followed closely and with interest its evolution to date.  The tragedy of September 11 was a costly failure from the Arab and Islamic prospective, and the ensuing political, media and military reactions have and will be equally a costly failure for the Americans in the long run.  Neither the Arabs nor the Americans will reap any benefits from the September 11 tragedy or the ensuing actions and reactions.  The only beneficiary of the New York catastrophe is Israel as it reigns havoc in the region and rides high on American prejudices and irrational emotions.   The September 11 tragedy could not have happened at a more opportune time for Israel to get out of its isolation by the world community and at the same time reign havoc with American full support and military hardware on unarmed Palestinian population, their economic infrastructure and refugee camps.

Although the American reaction to September 11 was downright understandable, it was not commensurable with the U.S. status as the world leader.  It has been a reaction typified by anger, rage and vindictiveness, and lacking cultural sensitive, political tact, wisdom and foresight – expected of a world leader.  American attitude has been a vindictive campaign of an unparalleled proportion – against Islam, Muslims and Arabs.  The American president, his right wing ministers, Zionists and Zionist sympathizers have made a three prong campaign to convince and polarize American and western public opinion against Islam and Muslims.

First, the American President, right wing Zionists, U.S. congress and news media made a sweeping campaign to disconnect and disassociate September 11 from the ills of American foreign policy and from the Arab/Israeli conflict.  September 11 tragedy was portrayed as a hateful attack by Islamic terrorists on American freedom, values and the American way of life and had nothing to do with American foreign policy or American stand on the Arab/Israeli conflict.  Unfortunately many people have taken the bait.  The campaign fury against Islam and Muslims took different shape and form and was downright ugly and shameful.

·                “We should invade [Muslim] countries, kill their leaders and convert them to     Christianity”, columnist Ann Coulter.

·               “Just turn [the sheriff] loose and have him arrest every Muslim that crosses the State line.”, Rep. C. Saxby Chamlilies (R-GA).

·               “Islam is a religion in which God requires you to send your son to die for him.   Christianity is a faith where God sent his son to die for you.”  Attorney General John Ashcroft.

·               [Islam] is a very evil and wicked religion, wicked, violent and not of the same God (as Christianity).”  Rev. Franklin Graham.

Second, President Bush war on terrorism has rained weapons of mass destruction on Afghanistan and has killed so many innocent people with little or no remorse on the American part.   How interesting!, when American and Israelis kill innocent people it is an unfortunate war mistake, but when Americans and Israelis get killed it is an absolute act of terror.

Third, following September 11, President Bush gave Sharon the greenlight to carry his genocide of the Palestinian people.  Sharon genocide of the Palestinian population may be without furnaces, but instead with American F-16s, Apache helicopters, tanks and weapons of mass destruction.  On top of all that, Mr. Bush had the tenacity and arrogance to label Sharon a man of peace in front of the whole world.

Dear readers, if you think or believe that the current American disdainful campaign against Islam and Muslims is a recent phenomenon and as a reaction to the September 11 tragedy, you better fasten your seat belts and read on with me.  American Christian Zionists have been on this path for many years – long before the September 11 tragic event.  The following summarized book reviews support my contentions and explain as to why and how the Zionist Christian fundamentalists have been conducting their disdainful campaign against Arabs/Muslims, supporting Israel and what exactly they intend to do about it:

PROPHECY AND POLITICS:   MILITANT EVANGELISTS

TO NEWCLEAR WAR by Grace Halsell.  Lawrence Hill & Company

Reviewed by Edward Johnson

In the coming maelstrom that lies ahead, in the coming judgment that’s going to burst in cyclonic fury over this world, and this planet, America’s only hope – listen to me, White House listen to me, State Department, listen to me, Pentagon, listen to me, Mr. President – America’s only hope is not GNP, it’s not scientific achievement, it’s not an education at Harvard or Yale, but it’s America holding on to that little, tiny state of Israel and saying, “We will stand with you,” because God said, “They that bless Israel I will bless, and they that curse Israel, I will curse.”

Rev. Jimmy Lee Swaggart

March, 1985 TV homily.

Grace Halsell, whose liberal credentials as a former “Black like me” Southern civil rights worker (she once dyed her skin to experience the tribulations of minorities) are unassailable, has written a troubling book which neatly undercuts this stereotype.  Contrary to the cover-up, the most powerful movement of jingoists and “nuke ‘em ‘till they glow” fanatics is in Israel’s camp.

The source of their zealotry lies in the Scofield Reference Bible, a heavily annotated King James Bible whose marginalia, penned by the 19th century hermeneuticist C.I. Scofield, is often given the weight of Scripture itself by enthusiasts.  His disciples’ view of modern era (or dispensation) is apocalyptic:  Armageddon is inevitable, Jews are God’s Herrenvolk, Mesech (Moscow and Gomer (Europe) are the enemy, and righteous Christians will be “raptured” off the planet before the final, radioactive curtain.

True believers in Scofield Dispensationalism regard the nuclear annihilation of the world as imminent.  Thus all attempts at making peace with one’s foes, or even balancing Reagan’s leviathan-sized national budget, are futile.

As a result of their pious vision of Zionists as God’s chosen realtors in the Middle East, the TV preachers have received a kind of de facto license to remain on the airwaves and promote a traditional, conservative, Christian social agenda.  Hence the riff among Zionism’s powers that be:  such Jewish leaders as Norman Lear feel that influential Jews should quickly pull the plug on Swaggart and Company because of their anti-abortionist, homophobic, anti-feminist, media-bashing platforms.

Other powerful Jews, for instance the neo-conservative Norman Podhoretz, feel that the preachers’ social prescriptions must be tolerated for the sake of preserving their high profile-Zionism.  New York intellectual Irving Kristol has tallied up this balance sheet with considerable acuity.  Halsell writes:

If one had informed American Jews 15 years ago that there was to be a powerful revival of Protestant fundamentalism as a political as well as a religious force, they would surely have been alarmed, since they would have assumed that any such revival might tend to be anti-Semitic and anti-Israel.   But the Moral Majority is neither… Kristol urges Jews to ask themselves the question:  How significant would it be for American Jews if the Moral Majority were anti-Israel?”   The answer is easy and inescapable:  it would be of major significance.  Indeed, it would generally be regarded by Jews as a very alarming matter.”

True, Kristol writes, the Moral   Majority is committed to a set of social issues – school prayer, anti-abortion, the relation of church and state in general – that tend to evoke a hostile reaction among most (though not all) American Jews.   To balance the pros and cons of the matter, Kristol says that “the social issues of the Moral Majority are meeting with practically no success, whereas anti-Israel sentiment has been distinctly on the rise, and the support of the Moral Majority could, in the near future, turn out to be decisive for the very existence of the Jewish state.  This is the way that the Israeli government has struck its own balance vis-à-vis the Moral Majority, and it is hard to see why American Jews should come up with a different bottom line.”  (pp.155-156)

In other words, for the government of Israel and its dual-loyalist followers in the United States, the:bottom line” is that no matter how may pro-Zionist TV preachers have visions of a 900-foot Lassie instructing them to build a multi-million dollar crystal dog house, or engage in any of the other buck-hustling buffoonery Twain, Mencken and Bierce satirized with their devastating barbs, the fundamentalists will remain on the airwaves.  That all-encompassing ecclesiastical fiat, “If it’s good for Israel, it’s good,” applies as effectively to Christian fundamentalists as it does to grossly inflated American military budgets senatorial candidates or any other facet of contemporary realpolitik.

Halsell’s book moves quickly and reads easily because it combines scholarship with the author’s ancedotes about her experiences as a member of a Jerry Falwell-sponsored tour of Israel.  On her tour bus she conversed with mostly successful American businessmen and entrepreneurs like Marvin, who told her, “Every war the Jewish soldiers fight is a battle directed by God himself.”

Marvin liked the biblical tests that quoted a God opting for extreme violence as divine policy.  He once quoted to me Psalm 110 that speaks of Yahweh crushing the heads and filling the earth with the corpses of non-believers, and Psalm 137 that expresses the wish for vengeance by taking little Babylonian children and dashing them against the rocks.

(p. 168)

Another Falwellite was Brad, a financial manager who resembled the “quintessential southern male.”  Brad told Halsell, “I just wish I had been born a Jew!,” explaining that “when God made the universe, He gave His special blessing to the Jews.”  As a result, “Jews were ‘different and better’ than non-Jews.”

Jews are in fact so far superior to their Christian admirers that the temples, battle sites, and ceremonies of Judaism and state Zionism are apparently the only attractions of interest to the folks on the Falwell tour.  Halsell was astounded to discover that no one on her bus evinced the least interest in visiting Nazareth, the home of what’s His name, but went wild in anticipation of a meeting with an Israeli general.  Ironically, the Falwell tour did make a stop in Jesus’s home town after all, when their bus driver decided it would be a convenient place for the Christian Zionists to use the restroom facilities.

Halsell hints that the Christian Zionists have a believer in the White House and that the President is not pursuing peace because:

“There’ll be no peace until Jesus comes.  Any preaching of peace prior to this return is heresy, it’s against the word of God, it’s Anti-Christ,” says TV evangelist Jim Robison, who was invited by President Reagan to deliver the opening prayer at the 1984 Republican National Convention. (p.16)

Politician and president-maker Jerry Falwell, a close confidant of Reagan, is the only non-Jew ever to have received the coveted Jabotinsky medal for services rendered to the state of Israel.  The prize, named in honor of the arch-terrorist Vladimir Jabotinsky, was personally bestowed upon Rev. Falwell by Jabotinsky’s most ardent disciple, Menachem Begin, at a gala 1980 dinner in New York.

According to Halsell, the view of the fundamentalists surrounding Reagan, as well as 1980 Presidential candidates Bush and Kemp, is that,

… one need not work to eliminate pollution in our cities, or starvation…  One need not concern oneself with nuclear proliferation.  One need not attempt; to prevent an Arab-Israeli war.  Rather – pray for it to explode and engulf the world, since this is part of the divine scheme.  (p.39)

At a 1971 dinner, Reagan told California legislator James Mills that “everything is in place for the battle of Armageddon and the Second Coming of Christ.”  The President has permitted Jerry Falwell to attend National Security Council briefings and author and Armageddon-advocate Hal Lindsey to give a talk on nuclear war with Russia to top Pentagon strategists.

If Mills, Halsell and other observers of the presidency are correct, Reagan’s personal belief in the Dispensationalist scenario explains the mystery of the seeming fatalism of so many of his military, domestic and monetary policies.  According to Mills, Reagan’s attitude can be summed up as, “There’s no reason to get wrought about the national debt, if God is soon going to foreclose on the whole world.”

Leading an electronic propaganda drive with some 60 million estimated adherents, an enthusiast in the White House, upcoming Republican presidential candidates influenced by, and in debt to, fundamentalism (and one candidate, Marion G. “Pat” Robertson, who sees himself as “an anointed prophet of God” and confirmed advocate of Israel and Armageddon), one would think some sort of alarm would be sweeping America.

One would expect that the “no nukes” ecology movement and the anti-racism groups, as well as anyone who gives a fig for the future of his children would, by now, have launched a sustained campaign to oppose the fundamentalists on the specific grounds of their seeking after nuclear war in the Middle East.  Yet no such movement has come forth.  Mesmerized by Holocaust propaganda centered on World War II, millions of Americans are oblivious to the hoped-for atomic holocaust openly advocated by Christian Zionists who claim to have God on their side and who utilize the vast persuasion-power of television.

This recipe for World War II, the cowing of the collective conscience of Americans who know better, the resultant mass apathy, the vacant stares and smirking grins of clergymen who lead constituencies which regard their leaders as infallible mystics, has a final, perverse twist to its core-belief.

In the theology of the cult of Scofield Dispensationalism, these horrors these “Christians” actually pray for at 24-hour vigil sites in the nation’s capital, attended by government officials and law makers, will not be shared by them or their children.  Instead, a form of Star Trek-like “dematerialization” will occur.  This event, called the “rapture,” will waft Christian airline pilots out of their cockpit (leaving a planeload of the unsaved to tailspin to fiery destruction), Christian surgeons out of their operating rooms (while patients bleed to death) and tens of thousands of others directly to heaven, where they will observe from a cozy celestial cloud the flaming cinder of planet earth..

This bizarre belief in a dues-ex-machina rescue from an atomic holocaust to be provoked by their blind support of state Zionism is most dramatically evoked by Jimmy Lee Swaggart, a spellbinding orator who has used television to showcase his speaking ability to maximum effect:

I’m not looking for a hole in the ground.  I’m lookin’ for a hole in the sky.  I’m not lookin’ for the undertaker; I’m lookin’ for the Up Taker.  I’m not lookin’ for some missile.  I’m lookin’ for the coming king – Jesus Christ – to gather us and take us away!  Rapture!  Rapture!  Rapture!...  After the Rapture, the world will be plunged into tribulation.   It will be a time so horrible and hideous that words cannot describe it.  Jesus called it “Great Tribulation” such as the world has never seen before… a time of such agony, a time of such horrifying hell that will burst in cataclysmic destruction…   And for the first time, in the Day of Grace, He (God) pulls off the gloves.  He is going to pour out destruction onto this planet, upon evil and upon sin and upon wickedness and upon evil-doers such as minds cannot imagine, contemplate or comprehend… it will affect the whole world… (From a transcript of a Swaggart sermon of March 3, 1985)

Rev. Swaggart’s words would be no more than a colorful bit of gothic, Southern Americana were he delivering them in a dimly lit tent on a steamy August night in some backwater hamlet.  But Swaggart’s “tent” was a Midwestern auditorium holding 20, 000 people in a major metropolitan area.  Moreover, he was nationally televised to an audience in the millions.

When Swaggart poured forth his searing nihilistic hatred for all life on earth he was not laughed out of town, booed, or tarred and feathered.  He was cheered wildly, with the frenzied abandon and up-lifted arms not seen since the fabled days of Hitlerian Germany.

Odd, is it not, that amid the oceans of newsprint and months of broadcast time devoted to hammering home with an unprecedented monotony, the perils of a fanatical demagogue and an irrational following which arose in National Socialist Germany, Swaggart, Robertson, Bakker and the rest proceed apace with little notice of protest?

What protest there is scrupulously skirts the taboo issue of the relationship between the likelihood of nuclear war and the preacher’s idolatry of war-Zionism, delicately limiting the protests of concern over the fundamentalist’s promotion of anti-abortion laws and censorship of pornography.  These are interesting topics but their urgency pales in comparison to the atomic hell-fire the fundamentalists are promoting by every means available.

Perhaps these “men of God” are correct.  Maybe America does have some weird death wish; having grown world-weary and full of resentment for life in the process Nietzsche accused Judeo-Christians of formenting.  If a thamatos cult as virulent as Scofield Dispensationalism can find allegiance among so many millions of our fellow citizens, while other millions idle away their hours in apathy, maybe the self fulfilling prophecies are coming true.

Surely some culpability descends upon all of us for helping to create the throw-away fundamentalist world Halsell documents.  Ultimately, the evangelists have given any who choose to follow them a license to escalate the industrial pollution and nuclear arms buildup threatening all life on earth.

In this current manifestation of a long-festering disease we have an eschatology of the extreme taken to its farthest and most unnatural conclusion.  This is nowhere revealed, in all its bitterest consequences, more aptly than in the contrast between the traditional question asked by native peoples in the past – “How will any of our actions affect the next seven generations?” – and the mindset of Rev. Jerry Falwell, who, when confronted with the horrors his philosophy may produce, commentated, “You know why I’m not worried?   I ain’t gonna be here.”

SOME FUNDAMENTALISTS ACHE FOR ARMAGEDDON

By Allan C. Brownfeld

The ties between Christian fundamentalism in the United States and Jewish fundamentalism in Israel are growing rapidly, with potentially serious consequences for U.S.-Middle East policy and for the people of that troubled region

In 1978, Jerry Falwell traveled to Israel on a trip sponsored and paid for by the Israeli government.  In 1979, the Israelis extended another free trip, during a period when Prime Minster Menachem Begin was in a rush to build Jewish settlements throughout the West Bank.  The Rev. Falwell traveled the road toward the Palestinian town of Nablus and turned off the highway and stood at a cluster of prefabricated houses built by Jewish settlers.  At that time, Falwell declared that God was kind to America only because America has been kind to the Jews”.

At a gala dinner in New York in 1980, Prime Minister Begin bestowed upon Falwell a medal named for Vladimir Jobotinsky, the right-wing Zionist leader.  In 1981, when Israel bombed the nuclear reactor in Iraq, Begin immediately called Jerry Falwell for support.

Few Americans understood the real reasons for the alliance between Christian fundamentalism and the most extreme segments of Israel political life.  In an important new book, “Prophecy and Politics” by Grace Halsell (Lawrence Hill and C.).  She worked as a White House speechwriter during the administration of Lyndon Johnson and explores this growing relationship.

During two of Jerry Falwell’s Holy Land tours, the author interviewed fundamentalist members of the Moral Majority, all of whom believed that the biblical prophecy of fighting World War III must be fulfilled preparatory of the Second Coming of Christ.

The strain of fundamentalism known as “dispensationalism,” Halsell writes, argues that the world will soon be destroyed:  “God knows it will happen.  He knew it from the beginning.  But, God kept His plan secret from all the billions of people who lived before us.  But now … He has revealed the plan … we must move through seven time periods, or dispensations – one of which includes the terrible battle of Armageddon, where new and totally destructive nuclear weapons will be unleashed and blood will flow like mighty rivers…

Dispensationalism spread throughout the U.S. largely through the efforts of Cyrus Ingerson Scofield, born in 1843.  His belief system was not original with him but goes back to John Nelson Darby, a 19th-century Irishman and one-time priest in the Church of England.

On one occasion, Scofield reminded his audience that year after year he had sounded the same warning:  our world will end “in disaster, in ruin, in the great, final world-catastrophe.”  But, he said, born-again Christians should welcome such a catastrophe because once the final battle began, Christ will lift them up into the clouds.

Grace Halsell became a participant in two Jerry Falwell-sponsored journeys to Israel where she mingled with many dispensationalists.  One of them, Owen, explained his belief system, which entailed the need to destroy Jerusalem’s most hold Islamic shrine, and the necessity of waging a nuclear Armageddon to destroy the world.

Christian fundamentalists who donate generously to Jewish terrorism include oil and gas tycoon Terry Reisenhoover, a frequent White House visitor, Mission to American Chairman Dr. Hilton Sutton and Dr. James DeLoach, pastor of Houston’s Second Baptist Church who visited me … and boasted that he and others had formed a Jerusalem Temple Foundation specifically to aid those intent on destroying the mosque and building a temple.

Dr. John Walvoord, who teaches at Southwestern School of Bible in Dallas, explained the dispensationalist beliefs to Halsell:  “God does not look on all of His children the same way.  He sees us divided into categories, the Jews and the Gentiles.  God has one plan, an earthly plan, for the Jews.  And He has a second plan, a heavenly plan, for the born-again Christians.  The other peoples of the world – Muslims, Buddhists, and those of other faiths as well as those Christians not born again – do not concern Him.  As for destroying planet earth, we can do nothing.  Peace, for us, is not in God’s book……”

At a meeting of Christian Zionists in Basel, Switzerland, the group adopted resolutions calling for all Jews living outside of Israel to leave the countries where they are now residing and move to the Jewish State.  The Christians also urged Israel to annex the West Bank.  When an Israeli in the audience urged more moderate language, pointing out that an Israeli poll showed that one-third of Israelis would be willing to trade territory seized in 1967 for peace with the Palestinians, one of the Christian leaders, van der Hoeven of Holland, replied, “We don’t care what the Israelis vote!  We care what God says!   And God gave that land to the Jews!”

The discussion in this book of the alliance between Christian and Jewish fundamentalists – whose theological differences have been shelved for the political goal of strengthening Israel – is instructive, Jews in Israel and the U.S., it seems, do not realize that the Christian fundamentalists urge such a policy because they believe it will usher in the Battle of Armageddon and the end of the world – not because they are concerned with Israel’s long-run security.

Book review ends

These book reviews, comprehensive as they are, do not do justice to the vivid interview details in the book, “Prophecy and Politics”, by Grace Halsell.  The graphic description of the Christian fundamentalist’s beliefs and their alliance with Israel are beyond rational comprehension.  Ideologically and theologically speaking I believe that Zionist Christian fundamentalists are as dangerous as al-Qaida if not more so.

Does the United States have the boldness (disrespect) to threaten Saudi Arabia and other Muslim nations with “Ultimatums if they do not stop all funding and support for what the U.S.A. deem to be fundamentalists schools and Mosques, dismantle and ban Islamic charities that fund terrorism, prosecute those involved in the terror chain, including [those] in the Saudi intelligence services.”  When at the same time and for many years, the United States has had on its soil over eighty (80) million Zionist Christian fundamentalists with their schools, institutions, pervert/hateful/militant teachings, money and powerful media all vigorously ushering and hastening the battle of Armageddon?  Christian fundamentalists and even United States Government have openly funded Israeli illegal settlements and terrorists.

Based on deducible analysis and assessments of past and current Middle East political situations, I believe that the United States and Israel are orchestrating a concealed plan to apply the long forgotten “domino theory” to Arab and Islamic nations in the Middle East.  Communism was accused of applying this theory following World War II and during the cold war era.  Simply stated, it is a theory that if one act or event is allowed to take place, a series of similar acts or events will follow.  The first act has already taken place, the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan.  The second event is in the making, the invasion and occupation of Iraq.  The third and fourth (3 and 4) will be Iran and Syria, what comes first will depend on Israel’s preference and the prevailing political conditions.  I have been able to deduce these conclusions based on the following facts:

·         The U.S. and Israeli chilling reception of the Saudi/Arab peace plan despite worldwide acceptance of the peace plan and repeated visits to the White House by many Arab Heads of State – the plan is hardly mentioned or talked about nowadays in the American/Israeli circles.  The Arab peace plan was too clear and too specific for Israel to accept.

·         Let us face it head on, there will be no viable Palestinian State next to Israel because Israel will not accept fixed and permanent borders, will not go back to 1967 green line, will not give up Jerusalem, will not remove all settlements and will not compensate Palestinian refugees; and the U.S.A. will not invade Israel to effect United Nations resolutions!  All the current American/Israeli maneuvers, peace conference and talk of a Palestinian State are tactics to put an end to the Palestinian Intefatta and gain time to advance the domino theory as they tighten the rope around Saddam’s neck.

·         The United States has had a strategic dream plan, for quite some time, to secure gulf oil field reserves and put the entire Gulf region under its domain.   Gulf region has nearly 700 billion barrels of oil reserves and nearly 1500 trillion cubic feet of gas in reserves and will become the main source of world energy and the U.S. has been obsessed with the idea of occupying the region.

·         The domino theory is in line with the Christian fundamentalists scheme of increasing the chance for wars, land annexation, expulsion of Arab people and ushering the battle of Armageddon.

Additionally, eliminating al-Qaida, removing Saddam and threats to target Arab oil fields and financial investments are facts which support my predictions.  The blueprint of the domino theory was probably put in place following the events of the 1967 war, the Soviet Union invasion of Afghanistan and the Iranian revolution...

American involvement with Saddam’s war adventures against Iran and Kuwait and the formation of al-Qaida was fairly known and documented.  This odd couple relationships have outlived their usefulness and their eliminations are in steps with the strategy of the domino theory.  The crusade is in progress and gaining momentum.

Arab and Muslim nations are undoubtedly being targeted educationally, economically and politically and it is time for Arab and Islamic leaders to unify their ranks and to bank on the support of their loyal populous and their friendships with other fair minded nations in order to halt this Zionist plot.  It is also time to walk away from this marshland relationship with the United States.  I call it a marshland relationship because no matter how much we nurture it, it remains barren.

Finally, I want to conclude my viewpoint with a note to my dear American friends, colleagues, business associates and all fair minded Americans, the silent majority, that I intended no offense or disrespect to you, your culture or your faiths.  I had the opportunity to live and work in your country long enough to appreciate your ideals, principles and your freedom.  I have and will always cherish the memories, the friendships and the good qualities and values I learned from you.

I also hope that you will allow me to tell you that America’s international image has suffered under the current administration.  The current administration foreign policy depicts arrogance and display of power, but way short on wisdom, sensitivity and sense of fairness expected of a super power.  As a result, your true friends in this part of the world, (Israel is the only exception) feel that the American ideals, principles and sense of justice have been high-jacked by Zionists and right-wing politicians who are sold and bought by lobbyists and special interest groups and have lost the American ideals and sense of fairness.

On the other hand, I know that we have our bin Ladens and our Saddams, just as you have your Falwells, Ashcrofts and Rumsfelds.  Our vast majority was as horrified and saddened as you were by the September 11 attack.  It was a gruesome act foreign to our honored culture, our peaceful and tolerant faith and hospitable way of life.  We have, and will continue to condemn and fight such criminal acts in the future.  But no culture, religion or people on either side should be held responsible, condemned or collectively punished for the acts of the misguided few.

The last thought in my viewpoint is that Saudi Arabia has been unfairly targeted and unjustly threatened if it does not dismantle and ban certain religious curriculums, schools and charities.   I wonder if the U.S. officials would entertain similar requests from us to dismantle and ban the Scofield Reference Bible and ban all curriculums, schools and institutions that inspire violence, support terrorism and preach Christian fundamentalism, zealotry, fanaticism and hostility?
