The Palestinian Authority's
Sheer Stupidity

By Suleiman Ajlouni

News Flash??

The Israelis are going ahead with building the fence deep on territory belonging to Palestinians and planning new homes in settlements in the West Bank.

This in the face of tepid opposition by Bush's criminal administration and remarkably mute international protest.  The PA and it's corrupt leaders are exhibiting an amazing degree of incompetence and unbelievable stupidity in wasting their time, much too long of it, in arguing over who gets what ministry post!!!!

As though a government matters.  Why do they take themselves so seriously and bother to form a government that will have no control over their territory or their own lives?  Who really cares if what is left of Palestinian territory has a minister of Labor, or education or planning, much less external affairs?  This is sheer stupidity that will earn Palestinians nothing but ridicule and contempt by the rest of the world.  Instead of focusing all their energies on stopping the current Israeli land grab, Palestinians dither over who gets to occupy what government post.

It has become abundantly clear to the world that the Palestinians are not capable of self rule.  They have been given chances to gain independence and they squandered them time after time.  I am beginning to believe that the corrupt PA has more to gain monetarily by maintaining the Israeli occupation than by attaining independence.  It provides them with the means to build themselves luxury villas and drive around in Mercedeses as the average Palestinian gets poorer and poorer.

So now I believe that the only solution for Palestinians is a one-state plan.  They should change course and earnestly work for merging with Israel, become Israeli citizens and hope for the best... and Jewish largess. Arab Palestine has never been independent and apparently Palestinians have become so used to being ruled by outside powers that any departure from their habitual acquiescence to foreign rule is a traumatic experience they cannot handle.

If they are lucky, their numbers in a democratic bi-national state will give them some voice in setting policy and representation in government.  And ... Arafat could continue to argue over who belongs in the ranks of his lackeys and, wonder of all wonders...security forces.   Security over and for what?  Where is this security that the security forces are being fought over?  Are they not aware of the fact that a couple of Israeli soldiers could make mince meat out of their ranks if they so choose?

Watching what's going on in Palestine and the little games Arafat and his unfortunate pigmies play leaves one to wonder about the vaunted intelligence of Palestinians as people.  Why are Palestinians demonstrating in the streets of Gaza, Ramallah and other towns in support of this idiot Arafat?  Do they not have other more important reasons to be concerned about right now than the fate of a corrupt and senile man?

I give up. I am very embarrassed.
